French Quarter

Thu May 15, 2008, 6:23 PM
New Orleans Rocks !!!!!
Or maybe that should be Jazz….B-)
Well, as promised we fixed up houses of Katrina victims, and got lots of sun. but my favorite thing was the French Quarter on our day off. Their were so many art galleries and shops with cool antiques that I thought my head would explode. Not to mention the sweet jazz clubs and street performers, all of witch did not suck.
The weather was cool in the evening and a steady wind made the heat of the day not so bad. We got to see a live performance at “ Preservation Hall” (witch I will remember till the day I die) and even though only one ceiling fan out of four was working, the heat did not stop it from being a packed house. I bought their CD. :tunes:
I can’t explain all the beauty that is the south, and all the magic that is New Orleans, you’ll just have to go see it for yourself.

Though... My sunburn is so bad (still, 1 week & 1 day later) that I'm thinking about going to the doctors tomorrow...! :(

totally was there a year ago for mardi gras.... the french quarter is to die for! I loved it...the food, the music, the friendliness of the folks who live there. It's a magical place to be sure! Gratz on getting to go! and uber gratz on the community service!

When one has dealings with scholars and artists it is easy to miscalculate in opposite directions: behind a remarkable artist one not infrequently finds a mediocre man, and behind a mediocre artist often a very remarkable man.

I decided not to go cause I did some research and it looked like there was nothing the doc could do for it. :( But it's DISGUSTING to look at! *gag* *gag*

Me, personally, I prefer the dark. Does that make me evil, or just nocturnal?

I am still coveting your cd you bought from preservation hall. :) You were the smartest of us all to buy only one....that is my only regret that I had bought a cd of that amazing jazz.
